Eligible clients with a GP Mental Health Care Plan receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. The rebate amount varies by clinician type:
Clients pay the session fee at the time of service and receive the Medicare rebate directly. Your out-of-pocket gap is the difference between our fee and the applicable Medicare rebate. We process Medicare claims via HICAPS on the day of your appointment.
Book a longer GP appointment and ask for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Your GP assesses your mental health needs, prepares the plan, and provides a referral to a psychologist. Bring your referral to your first appointment.
We accept self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We are NOT a registered NDIS provider — NDIA-managed participants cannot access our services.
Sessions are charged at the current NDIS support catalogue rate under Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living. We provide itemised invoices meeting NDIS requirements.
If your psychological difficulties are related to a workplace injury (WorkCover/iCare) or motor vehicle accident (CTP), treatment may be fully funded by your insurer. Pre-approval from your insurer is required before your first appointment. Contact us to discuss.
Many private health funds cover psychology sessions under extras or mental health benefits. Coverage and rebate amounts vary by fund and policy. We process private health rebates through HICAPS at the time of your appointment. Contact your fund to confirm your cover before booking.
A referral is not required but enables Medicare rebates. Private clients are welcome to book directly without a referral — no GP required.
Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangement has been made. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and EFTPOS. Medicare and private health rebates are processed on the day via HICAPS.
No. Medicare and private health insurance cannot both be claimed for the same session. You may choose one or the other.
Yes. ADHD assessment sessions count toward your annual Medicare allocation of 10 sessions with a Mental Health Care Plan. A comprehensive ADHD assessment typically uses 2–3 sessions from your allocation.
Please contact us to discuss your situation. Community mental health services and Medicare-funded services with lower gaps may be available depending on your circumstances.
